Paragon CET is approved by the Illinois Division of Professional Regulation as a provider of continuing education for Cosmetologists, Estheticians, and Nail Technicians, License #190.000510.
New! IDFPR has issued the following variance beginning July 30th. This Variance shall be permitted to allow a cosmetology teacher, esthetics teacher, nail technician, nail technician teacher, hair braider, and hair braider teacher to complete all their continuing education through self-study methods, such as courses offered through online methods for the renewals taking place in 2020.
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
Cosmetologists: Required 14 hours every two-year licensing period, 7 of which may be completed by self-study.*
Estheticians and Nail Technicians: Required 10 hours of continuing education every two-year licensing period, 5 of which may be completed by self-study.*
*Paragon CET courses are considered self-study.
New Domestic Violence Requirement *
Licensees are required to complete a one-time one-hour Board approved course on Domestic Violence. The course must be presented in a classroom setting or in an online classroom presentation. The course must be presented or taught by an individual that holds a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness CE Sponsor License (licensure prefix #290). *ParagonCET does not offer the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault requirement.
