COVID-19 UPDATES: April 23, 2021: All Safety Guidelines for Getting Back to Work have been rescinded by the Governor EXCEPT where it states on page 14 in Executive Order 03.31.21.03 CLICK HERE - All service providers shall wear a face covering while interacting with a client, and shall encourage patrons to wear a face-covering while receiving services.

RENEWAL UPDATE - Master Cosmetologists:
The Board held an emergency teleconference on March 31st and voted to waive the late-renewal fee for the 2020 renewal cycle. Any Master Cosmetologist who has not renewed may do so at the standard $50 renewal fee through the Late-Renewal period ending on September 30, 2020.
In addition the board has updated their guidelines for reopening below are very distinct guidelines: The site was last accessed on May 7th, 2020 and should be reviewed thoroughly prior to reopening.

Safety Guidelines for reopening Barber and Cosmetology Salons In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Georgia State Board of Cosmetologists and Barbers recommends reopening barber and cosmetology salons and shops with the following strict guidelines in order to protect the safety of clients and employees. The recommendations should be used in conjunction with the board rules for safety and sanitation that are currently in place. Keep in mind that these guidelines will be in effect during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic and may be adjusted as necessary, and they will be reduced when safe to do so. Upon inspection, if any salon or shop is found in violation of these guidelines, they may be closed immediately by public health officials or the board. Salon/shop owners and managers should use the OSHA “Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19” as a guide for reopening.
Among the restrictions and guidelines here are the considerations.
Ask each client entering the shop the following questions:
Have you had a cough?
Have you had a fever,
Have you been around anyone exhibiting these symptoms within the past 14 days?
Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?

- Maintain social distancing at all times!
