CE hours required (per 2-year cycle)
1 license held: 6 hours
2 licenses held: 10 hours
3 licenses held: 14 hours
At least 2 hours must cover IA law and infection control in all cases.
Renewal cycle
Biennial, April 1 – March 31. Renewal window opens 60 days before your expiration date.
Home study limit
Maximum of 2 hours per cycle may be completed by independent home study.
CE reporting
Upload certificates during online renewal. Iowa does not pre-approve CE providers.
Exemptions
First renewal cycle exempt; military/military spouse; out-of-state practitioners. Extension available for disability/illness.
